Beware: The One Sneaky Habit Sabotaging Your Hair Strands!

As a hairstylist, I have the unique privilege of witnessing all sorts of hair dilemmas, and let me tell you, it's quite the show! But amidst the chaos, I often notice patterns – not just in hairstyles, but in people's behaviors and the havoc some of them wreak on their hair.

One of the most common complaints I hear, right up there with "I'm shedding like a golden retriever," is "My hair keeps breaking," "My hair is throwing tantrums," or "I've got a whole bunch of baby hairs everywhere." While there could be a myriad of reasons behind these hair woes, my first question is always the same...

"Do you pull your hair up when it's soaking wet?" If the answer's a sheepish "Yes," then Houston, we've got a problem.

Pulling your hair up when it's still sopping wet? Big no-no. Here's the scoop: your hair is at its most vulnerable when it's wet – stretching up to 50% of its length, mind you. So, when you wrangle it up into a tight ponytail or messy bun and it starts to dry, well, let's just say it's not exactly a match made in hair heaven. The result? Hair tie entrapment and, you guessed it, breakage galore.

If you're noticing most of your breakage right where you've tied up your pony or fashioned your messy bun, chances are it's the wet hair culprit at play.

Now, I get it – life gets hectic, and we've all heard the spiel about minimizing heat styling to save our strands. So, when you're rushing around and need that mane out of your face, what's a girl to do? Fear not, my darlings, for there's a solution.

If you absolutely must wrangle your wet locks, opt for the softest, gentlest hair tie you can find and tie it up ever-so-loosely. Better yet, give braiding a whirl – it's a lifesaver, I promise. No need for intricate plaits; just twist, twirl, and secure lightly with a soft, forgiving hair tie. Let it air dry in peace, and voila – breakage begone!

So, remember: when it comes to pulling up wet hair, tread lightly, my friends. Your locks will thank you for it – and who knows, you might just start a trend in hair-saving techniques! 🌟 Here are my favorite, non-damaging hair ties I use and recommend you do to SOFT NON-DAMAGE HAIR TIES
